September is winding down, but the Atlantic Hockey Federation season is just beginning to take shape.
After another packed weekend of regular-season action, AHF teams return to the ice September 25–27 with more opportunities to build momentum, climb the standings and establish themselves within their divisions.
Last weekend featured more than 400 games across the federation, including undefeated runs, overtime finishes and plenty of one-goal battles. Now, as teams continue to add games to their records, the early standings are beginning to tell a story.
Here’s what to know heading into another weekend of AHF hockey.

After spotlighting the 12U McDavid and 10U Lemieux divisions during the first two weeks of the Game of the Week series, the 12U AA division gets its turn in the spotlight.
Saturday’s matchup arrives as teams across the AHF begin to settle into their regular-season rhythm. For PBK and Haverford, it’s another opportunity to pick up an important early-season result as September comes to a close.
The matchup also continues a season-long Game of the Week series designed to showcase different clubs, age groups and divisions from across the federation.

Coming Off a Huge Weekend
If last weekend was any indication, there should be plenty of exciting action across the AHF to close out September.
A total of 412 games were completed across all 24 divisions from September 18–20, with approximately 430 teams taking the ice. Sixteen games needed overtime, while many more were decided by a single goal or ended in a tie.
Several teams enter this weekend looking to extend strong starts.
Genesis and PBK both went 3-0 in 14U AA last weekend, while the NJ Jets posted a perfect 3-0 weekend at 13U AA. The Lehigh Valley Phantoms also went 3-0 at 16U AA, winning two of those games by a single goal.
Elsewhere, the Delaware Ducks went 3-0 at 11U AA, Haverford Hawks went 3-0 at 14U Lemieux and Genesis finished 3-0 in 16U Gretzky.
Those results are beginning to add up, and another successful weekend could help teams create some early separation in their divisions.
Players to Watch
Some players enter the weekend coming off huge performances.
Haverford Hawks’ Aidan Finnegan was one of the biggest offensive standouts from last weekend, recording nine goals and five assists for 14 points in three games at 10U AA.
York Devils’ Landon Maloney continued his strong start at 10U Gretzky with seven goals and five assists for 12 points over three games.
At 8U AAA, LI Monarchs’ Anthony Tognella scored nine goals in just two games, while Genesis Hockey Club’s Blaine Earley found the back of the net six times over two games at 9U AA.
With another weekend of games ahead, the question becomes who can carry those performances forward — and who will emerge as the next early-season standout.
The Standings Start to Matter
It’s still September, and there’s a lot of hockey left to play.
But the picture is becoming a little clearer.
Teams have moved beyond the opening showcases and are beginning to settle into the week-to-week rhythm of the regular season. With each game, there is another opportunity to collect points, build chemistry and establish position within the division.
Some teams are looking to protect strong starts. Others have an opportunity to make up ground. And with so much of the schedule still ahead, a big weekend can quickly change the early-season picture.
That makes every trip to the rink another chance to make a move.
