The 2026 AHF Mite Fall Faceoff took place on October 3-4, 2026 at multiple rinks across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. These players went above and beyond for their teams on and off the ice.
Congratulations to all participants!
Ronan Melvin – Lancaster Firebirds 6U
Ronan Melvin was outstanding in net this weekend, playing all four games and facing more than 160 shots combined. His effort and determination throughout a demanding weekend made him a standout for our team and a deserving nominee for Showcase Player of the Weekend.
Grant Braff – Ramapo Saints 6U
Scored 5 or more goals and 3 or more assists, not sure the exact number. Lent his stick to a player who forgot his; they switched every shift. Cheered on his teammates, always backchecked hard and never bragged about his amount of goals.
Mason WIlliams – Team Philadelphia – Yellow 6U
Hard effort all games despite score.
Dylan Kravitz – Genesis Hockey Club – Mite Green 8U Advanced
Dylan had a rough week leading up to the showcase as he had to have some serious medical procedures done, however because of the warrior he is he was not only able to come back and play over the weekend, but posted a 4-0 record with 3 shutouts on Sunday. The kid is incredible!
Jasper Moan – Hollydell Hurricanes 8U Advanced
Jasper enjoyed his first ever showcase this weekend. I can’t tell you Jasper’s stat line from the weekend, nor can I tell you how many games we won or lost. I ask two things from my team every time they step on the ice, effort and attitude. Jasper has demonstrated these qualities to perfection. He listens to his coaches and responds. Just this weekend when I challenged him to back check harder, never stop moving his feet, he took it with a smile and by the end of the game he was example for his teammates in how to play an end to end game. It was a pleasure seeing him bond with his new teammates this weekend. Jasper recently moved here and is liked by all of his teammates. Respectful, kind, and one heck of a skater. Please consider this young man, a true example all weekend of why we love this game.
Jimmy DeLuca – Ramapo Saints 8U Advanced
Jimmy DeLuca had himself a weekend! Four great games, nonstop hustle on both sides of the puck, a bunch of goals, plenty of assists, and great team play from start to finish.
Beyond the scoresheet, Jimmy was an awesome teammate all weekend — supporting the boys, playing unselfish hockey, and doing whatever the team needed. Keep it rolling!
Henry Duffy – Montclair Blues Mite White 8U Beginner
Congrats on scoring his first career goals!
Levi Colbert – NJ Bandits 8U Beginner
Levi Colbert, our youngest player, had a breakout weekend. Almost securing his first goal 6 times and having 2 great games in player position – Levi’s top moment from the showcase came when we threw him in net. Energy was electric as Colbert made save after save after save (at least 20), taking the W for his team.
Everett Fleisher – Royals 8U White 8U Beginner
Everett participated in his first showcase this past weekend and made a significant contribution to the team. Throughout the showcase, he demonstrated strong hockey awareness through well-placed passes, consistent backchecking, and effective positioning in front of the opposition’s net. Everett contributed offensively by scoring several goals while also playing strong defense and, most importantly, creating opportunities for his teammates by distributing the puck effectively. His unselfish play and overall effort made him a valuable contributor to the team’s success.
Parker Johnson – Jr. Flyers 8U Intermediate
Parker did her normal goal scoring this weekend but I was more impressed by her complete play, playing strong defense, winning puck battles, and making excellent passes.
Shayne Viers – Mercer Chiefs Black 8U Intermediate
Shayne put together a tremendous weekend in net during his showcase tournament, finishing with a 2–1 record while facing an incredible 81 shots and making 62 saves over three games.
His overall numbers, however, don’t tell the entire story.
In the opening game, Shayne and his team faced an extremely lopsided matchup. While Shayne faced 40 shots in net, his team was able to generate just 2 shots at the other end of the ice — a 40–2 shot differential. Despite being under nearly constant pressure, Shayne battled from beginning to end, making 27 saves and never giving up on his teammates.
More importantly, he didn’t allow that game to define his weekend.
Over his other two starts, Shayne responded by going a perfect 2–0, stopping 35 of 41 shots for an outstanding .854 save percentage and 3.00 goals-against average. He helped his team earn 8–3 and 9–3 victories, showing tremendous resilience after such a difficult opening game.
But perhaps the best example of Shayne’s weekend came when he wasn’t even wearing the goalie pads.
With four games on the tournament schedule, one of his teammates stepped into goal for the third game so Shayne could get some much-needed rest. Even though the team lost, Shayne was right there supporting him. He encouraged his teammate, showed him different goalie movements and techniques, and after the game reminded him that he had done his best and should be proud of himself.
At only seven years old, Shayne demonstrated resilience, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship throughout the weekend. He showed that being a goalie isn’t just about stopping pucks or winning games. It’s about continuing to compete when the odds are against you, bouncing back after a difficult game, and being there to lift up a teammate when it’s their turn to stand in the crease.
Tournament: 2–1 • 81 shots faced • 62 saves • .765 SV%
Two Victories: 2–0 • 41 shots faced • 35 saves • .854 SV% • 3.00 GAA
For his performance in net, his resilience after facing a 40–2 shot differential, and most importantly the encouragement and sportsmanship he showed his teammate, Shayne is proudly nominated for Mite of the Week.
Martin Bauer – Valley Forge Colonials 8U VanSise 8U Intermediate
Martin played amazingly throughout the showcase. Not only did he score his first goal of the season, but he then managed to find the net another seven times throughout the day. When not attacking the net on offense he was also great in a defensive role. Martin has proven himself to be a leader on the team by not only his offensive and defensive prowess but also being willing to be a strong passer and share the puck, a constant motivator for other players, a great friend to his team mates, and he brings a positive attitude with him wherever he goes.
