The Atlantic Hockey Federation returned to a full slate of action September 11-13, with 358 completed games across 23 divisions. From AA through Gretzky, Lemieux and McDavid, plus Mite AAA and AA, teams packed the rinks throughout the weekend as undefeated runs, overtime finishes and one-goal battles highlighted the action.

AA Divisions Deliver Tight Finishes

The AA divisions featured some of the weekend’s busiest schedules and plenty of teams putting together perfect performances.

At 14U AA, Genesis Hockey Club went 3-0, while the Blazers, Lehigh Valley Phantoms and NJ Bandits each finished 2-0. The 16U AA division was even more competitive, producing six games decided by one goal or in overtime. North Jersey Avalanche White and the Red Bank Generals both finished 3-0, with Red Bank opening its weekend with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Jersey Shore Wildcats.

The 18U AA division was the largest in the tier, featuring 24 teams and 25 games. Eight teams made it through the weekend without a loss, while the NJ Renegades provided one of Sunday’s most dramatic finishes with a 4-3 overtime victory over North Jersey Avalanche White.

One-Goal Battles Define Gretzky Action

The 12U Gretzky division was among the weekend’s tightest, with six of its 15 games decided by one goal. The NJ Bandits, Team Philadelphia and Valley Forge Colonials all went 2-0, with Valley Forge earning a pair of one-goal victories.

At 16U Gretzky, the NJ Jets opened their weekend in dramatic fashion with a 4-3 overtime win over the NJ Bandits before joining the Hollydell Hurricanes and Palmyra Black Knights at 2-0.

The Woodbridge Wolfpack led the way at 18U Gretzky, going a perfect 3-0, while Ashburn Xtreme, Tom’s River, Tri-City Eagles and the Wissahickon Warriors all went 2-0.

Perfect Weekends Across Lemieux

Several teams separated themselves from deep fields in the Lemieux divisions.

Team Philadelphia Orange finished 3-0 at 12U Lemieux, while six other teams went 2-0. The division also delivered four one-goal games, including a 2-1 overtime win for Rockets Hockey Club over the Jersey Shore Wildcats.

At 14U, the Palmyra Black Knights and Ramapo Saints each went 3-0, while Genesis Hockey Club and Team Philadelphia White finished 2-0.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms were perfect at 16U Lemieux, finishing 3-0. The Blazers, Team Philadelphia Orange, Team Philadelphia White, Tri-City Eagles and Wissahickon Warriors also completed undefeated 2-0 weekends.

McDavid Divisions Bring the Drama

The 10U McDavid division was the weekend’s busiest playing 25 games — six decided by a single goal.

The WBS Knights led the division at 3-0, while Jr Black Bears – Hasselberger, Red Bank Generals and Rockets Hockey Club each finished 2-0. The close games came early and often, including a wild 8-7 York Devils victory over the Delaware Ducks and a 5-4 overtime win for the Igloo Jaguars over Genesis.

At 12U McDavid, Royals Hockey Club went 3-0, while Genesis Hockey Club, the NJ Jets, Palmyra Black Knights, Toms River Blackhawks and Tri-City Eagles all finished 2-0. The division produced four one-goal finishes of its own, including two overtime thrillers.

Mites Join the Weekend Action

The youngest AHF skaters were busy as well, with 8U AAA featuring 14 teams and 11 games. Bridge 2019 Minor, LI Monarchs 2018 and Philadelphia Resistance each finished the weekend at 2-0.

The closest Mite finish came Sunday, when Hollydell Jr Rebels Minor edged the Mercer Arrows 2-1.

AHF Game of the Week: Genesis Takes Down the Blazers

The spotlight turned to the 12U McDavid division for the AHF Game of the Week, where Genesis Hockey Club earned a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Blazers. Genesis delivered a strong performance on both ends of the ice, pulling away for the four-goal win in the featured matchup. Nathan Shapiro helped lead the Genesis offense with two goals, providing a standout individual performance as his team secured the Game of the Week victory.

Another Action-Packed AHF Weekend

With 358 games completed, the September 11-13 slate showcased the depth of the AHF from Mites through 18U. Perfect 3-0 weekends, overtime winners and dozens of tightly contested matchups made for a busy three days across the league.

As teams settle further into the 2026-27 season, the early results are beginning to create plenty of storylines to follow heading into another weekend of AHF hockey.
