The Atlantic Hockey Federation is excited to announce the addition of Clearwater Ice Storm as a member of the 2023-2024 season. Clearwater Ice Storm is based out of Largo, Florida consisting of 15 teams and around 240 players.

Clearwater Ice Storm teams competed in the AHF at various age levels in 2022 as guest teams in the August and October AA showcases. Next season, Clearwater’s 16/18AA teams will be showcase members in the AHF.

The Ice Storm have teams that range from Mites to U18. Chase Bafia and Beau Armstrong are two featured coaches for the Ice Storm teams. Chase coaches the U16AA as well as the 18AAs. Chase coached with the Gulf Coast Flames from 2016-2019, Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) D3 in 2019, and has been with the Clearwater Ice Storm as a Board Member and Coach since 2019 when the program was founded. Chase’s three seasons with the Ice Storm have ended with State Championships. Beau coaches the 15AA team.  He moved from Minnesota to Florida in High School and has seen the evolution of Florida hockey firsthand. Both Chase and Beau played for Director, Fred Eaton, and credit a lot of their coaching styles to his elite high intensity training. “Freddie has taken us under his wing and put us around the best coaches in the Tampa area since we both started coaching. Being around guys like our staff and being able to talk hockey with great hockey minds has been huge in developing as coaches and we push ourselves to be better every day just like we demand from our players at the Ice Storm,” said Bafia.

Brady Burke and Aidan Besedic are stand-out alumni who played with the Ice Storm. Burke and Besedic both play in the NA3HL for the St. Louis Jr. Blues.
