Rockets Hockey Select

The Rockets have won each of their first two games, holding a 2-0-0 record with a goal differential of +4. It took a third period game-winner by Justin Yafimau to earn a 4-3 win over the North Jersey Blizzard in the team’s season opener, but the Rockets jumped out to a 5-1 lead over Jersey Shore after the first period in their next game, holding on to win 8-5. David Zhang leads the team in goals (3) and points (4), but each are very evenly distributed throughout the team’s starters. The team’s depth will play to their advantage as the year rolls on.

Jersey Shore Americans

Posting a 1-1-0 record through their first two games, the Americans have displayed a strong offensive attack, scoring 11 goals across those two games. They topped in-state rival North Jersey 6-2 to begin the season, thanks to a four-goal second period. Although they fell to the Rockets in their second game, they managed to score five more goals in an 8-5 loss. Connor Cyr and Rob McCarthy each have two goals on the season while Adam Davino’s three points leads the team. A resilient team, never count Jersey Shore out until the final buzzer.

Colosi got it done on both sides of the puck, as he had four goals in three games, while also having a 15-save performance in the Americans’ victory Saturday Morning.

NJ Outlaws: In their first showing in the AHF Showcases, the Outlaws had a solid showing for themselves. The scoring was distributed around, too, as seven players have multiple goals over the weekend. Declan York led the way with four goals, while Hayden ChamidesChristian Paul, and Charles Heartley had three goals each.

Ashburn Rebels 2: Another impressive showing by the Rebels, as in three of their games; they managed to have five or more different goal scorers on the scoresheet. Brodie DeVelli led the way with five goals in those three games. Not only was their offense impressive, but their defense held their Mite A opponents to only 12 shots-per-game in the Showcase.
