This weekly feature, running throughout the 2023-24 season, pays tribute to outstanding players across all divisions. Our honorees are selected from player nominations submitted by their respective coaches.
9U AA Division: Nominating Coach: Chris Harrington

- Player’s Name: Jace Cordrey
- Jersey Number: 89
- Position: Forward
- Quote: Jace puts everything into every shift with backchecking and forechecking. That effort this past weekend resulted in Jace recording a hat trick in the second game of the day! Week in and week out, Jace brings a ton of energy and positive attitude to the rink which no doubt is contagious amongst his teammates. Keep up the great work Jace!
10U AA Division: Nominating Coach: Al Lewis

- Quote: Logan has grown so much this season. His defensive coverage, his coachable demeanor, and his maturity have all blossomed. He makes smart decisions in his own zone, picks great times to rush the puck through the neutral zone, and blocks shots to protect his goaltender. He is the consummate teammate.
10U Lemieux Division: Nominating Coach: Melissa Jenkins

- Player’s Name: Ferdinand DAlfonso

- Quote: Ferdinand who plays wing consistently accepted the challenge to play defense this weekend when his team was down two key players. Ferdinand not only made smart, confident decisions on defense but also scored the game-winning goal Sunday. Great team player with an even better positive attitude.
10U Gretzky Division: Nominating Coach: Peter Crocker

- Player’s Name: Ct Reimer
- Jersey Number: 84
- Position: Defense
- Quote: Ct Reimer continues to be a hard-working defensive lead, but found a new level to his game when the Royals need him too. Fending off a 5v3 penalty situation, then blocking shots with a pulled goalie in the same game shows fantastic effort. Ct continues to put his team first and be a defensive dynamo.
10U McDavid Division: Nominating Coach: Carmine Taffo

- Player’s Name: Gavin Mellott

- Position: Forward
- Quote: Gavin had a great game both offensively and defensively as his work ethic was on full display. He finished the regular season by scoring his first hat trick of the season, which led his team to a 6-2 win.
11U AA Division: Nominating Coach: Craig Stanton

- Quote: CJ had a tremendous weekend leading his team to a shutout win against the L.I. Kings and a hard-fought loss to the GNY Stars.
12U AA Division: Nominating Coach: Pat Croce

- Quote: Nicholas Trojansky scored a big-time goal this weekend and assisted on the game-winning goal to help the Colonials defeat Team Philadelphia in a tightly contested match. Nicholas and the Team have been working hard all year!
12U Lemieux Division: Nominating Coach: Anthony Minerva

- Player’s Name: Joshua Frisoli

- Quote: Joshua has improved tremendously. In the beginning of the season, he had just started playing travel hockey and this was all new to him and a struggle. Through hard work and his want/will to get better, he has become an absolute stud in the net.
12U Gretzky Division: Nominating Coach: Ryan Dodd

- Quote: Braydon had an outstanding finish to his regular season allowing only 1 goal in two away games over the weekend and boasting an impressive 0.964 SV%. He was rock solid in net providing some much-needed glove and blocker saves to frustrate the opposition. Keeping calm in net and anchoring the ducks, his team finished with 2 dominant wins.
14U AA Division: Nominating Coach: Daniel Donegan

- Player’s Name: Nicholas Favretto
- Jersey Number: 62
- Position: Defense
- Quote: Nick had a rough start to the season missing the first two months due to a shoulder injury but has made a big impact on the team for the second half of the season. He has been adding up a handful of assists after his return and ended our regular season with a goal to help with the team’s two wins this weekend.
14U Lemieux Division: Nominating Coach: Patrick O’Leary
- Team: Mercer Chiefs
- Player’s Name: Peter Aiello

- Position: Forward
- Quote: As the league season comes to an end as a forward, Peter is closing in on a 30 goal season. Due to some defensive injuries, Peter has dropped back on defense and helped solidify our defense in only allowing 1 goal in the last two games. As Captain, he is committed to helping our team in any way he can to be our best!
14U Gretzky Division: Nominating Coach: Andy McDonald

- Quote: Erik had a phenomenal weekend of hockey showing off his speed, hard work ethic and recording 4 goals and 2 assists in 4 games!
14U McDavid Division: Nominating Coach: Ryan Todero

- Player’s Name: Andrew Manchester

- Position: Forward
- Quote: Andrew had a dominant weekend, recording a hat trick in both league games while dishing out an assist for a 7 point weekend. His skill on the ice is only matched by his attitude off the ice, as he brings a great attitude to every practice and game, wanting to be the best player he can be.
15U AA Division: Nominating Coach: Chris Sharamatew

- Quote: Jake really pulled thru for the team this weekend with a real gritty performance in 2 games just a few hours apart not to mention the 2nd game was against a very good team Philly team where Jake scored a hat trick and overall 6 point performance in 2 games, Jake has been counted on all year for bringing a lot of hard work and energy to the ice, bench, and the locker room.
16U AA Division: Nominating Coach: Brandon Van Scoy
- Team: WBS Jr Knights
- Player’s Name: Slater Sandor
- Jersey Number: 71
- Position: Forward
- Quote: As Captain of the team, Sandor took the lead by guiding the boys through three difficult games. Sandor earned himself 2 goals, but more importantly, led the team with 6 assists. His leadership, while showing his teammates how to work as a team on and off the ice, earned themselves a 3-0 weekend against some big rivals. Two weeks until playoffs, Sandor is showing his team that goals are part of the bigger picture. Teamwork is what guides a team to success. Passing the puck is just as important as scoring goals!
