The Atlantic Hockey Federation (“AHF”) is pleased to announce the Wissahickon Warriors (“Wissahickon”) as a new full season member for the 2022-23 hockey season. Wissahickon brings the 2022-2023 AHF team count to approximately 465 among 30 organizations, including 240 in the Central Division. The AHF will serve as the primary league for all of Wissahickon’s teams throughout its various age groups in 2022-2023.

“We are thrilled to join the AHF,” said Wally Muehlbronner, Hockey Director of Wissahickon. “Wissahickon has a long history of competition and camaraderie with many of the current AHF organizations. We are excited to join them in the most competitive league in the Mid-Atlantic. After reviewing what the AHF brought to the table, the decision was easy – increased competition and logical geographic scheduling – as a hockey director, I am very excited for the Wissahickon program.”

“Wissahickon makes the AHF’s competition level in the Philadelphia/southern New Jersey region even stronger,” said Matt Kiernan, Vice President of Hockey for the Atlantic Hockey Federation. “From the very beginning, they were certainly a club that we kept an eye on. They consistently feature a large number of teams, participate at all age levels, and have a history of winning. Bringing them on board was a simple decision for us.”

“We have received overwhelming interest in the AHF since our 2022-2023 expansion announcement,” said Black Bear Founder and CEO, Murry Gunty. “We always monitor like-minded Tier II clubs that we feel would be a good fit for our league, so when Wissahickon approached us after the announcement, we were elated.  They represent exactly what we are looking for – they continually field teams at all levels, their history of winning is unimpeachable, and their location fits perfectly in the footprint of our league. We could not be more excited to welcome them to the AHF.”
