The AHF announces the Players of the Week for the week ending December 11th, 2022.  The Players of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2022-23 season that honors players in all divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered.

For the week ending on December 4th, the Atlantic Hockey Federation rankings and subdivisions are in. The number of playoff subdivisions are based on the number of teams in the division. For the A divisions, Gretzky and Lemieux divisions are considered separate divisions and will have their own playoff subdivisions. You can view all rankings here.

The teams that are in first in each AA division are Ashburn Xtreme 2012 (10U), Ashburn Xtreme 2010 (12U), Igloo Jaguars (13U), Ashburn Xtreme 08 (14U), Delaware Ducks (15U), Team Philadelphia Black (16U) and Philadelphia Blazers (18U). 

For the A division, the top teams in each group are the NJ Bandits Grey (10U Gretzky Division), NJ SportsCare Kings Blue (10U Lemieux Division), Southern Maryland Sabres Gold (12U Gretzky), NJ SportsCare Kings Blue (12U Lemieux), Philadelphia Blazers (14U Gretzky), Frederick Freeze LA (14U Lemieux), Lancaster Firebirds Black (16U Gretzky), Delaware Ducks (16U Lemieux) and Wissahickon Warriors Red (18U). 

For the B Division, the three teams with the most ratings are Jersey Shore Wildcats Black (10U), Metro Militia (12U), and the MYHA 14U B Blue (14U). The Venom Hockey Club 1 are on top of the rankings for this week in the Mites category.

This month, KRACH ratings were broken up into multiple subdivisions. Teams will have the ability to move up and down subdivisions until January. The final subdivision will include the teams in competition for a playoff spot.

The Atlantic Hockey Federation is looking forward to its first ever All Star Games this weekend. Over 200 All Stars of each age group and division were placed on teams and will be playing out of Hollydell and Igloo Ice Arena this Saturday and Sunday.

“Cooper is developing into an excellent shutdown defenseman. He digs in on the back end without complaint or blame. He played a ton of minutes this past weekend and held his head high the entire time,” said Coach Ryan Sheehan.

The Atlantic Hockey Federation is excited to announce the Jersey Colts Hockey Club as a new member for the 2023-24 season. The Jersey Colts Hockey Club is based at Twin Oaks Ice Arena in Morristown, NJ.

The AHF is a USA Hockey Sanctioned Elite Tier-II Youth Hockey League that facilitates games throughout the Mid-Atlantic for its club members and families. The AHF provides high-quality, league games and showcases for over 500 teams in the Mid-Atlantic uniquely catering to its member-owned clubs. 

The AHF currently fields youth hockey programs at AA, A and B divisions for the following age groups: the 8U AAA Full Ice, 8U Half Ice, 10U, 12U, 14U, 15U/16U and 18U age levels. The AHF is truly a unique opportunity as each of the Founders and Member clubs operate at all levels of the youth and junior hockey spectrum from Mite thru to Midget at the youth level and from Tier III juniors all the way up to Tier I juniors in the USHL.

The AHF All Star Player Selection Process

Each AHF team was allocated roster spots in the All Star games based on the KRACH ratings as of November 6th. The higher the KRACH, the more roster spots that team will be given for the All Star game.

The league office then requested player nomination’s from each organization. Once the player nominations were collected players were chosen by the selection committee based on the nominations, rankings, and season statistics.

*Please note only teams that chose to participate in the selection process had players selected for the All Star game.
