Atlantic Hockey Federation is excited to announce the Federation Education Series. The Federation Educational Series will feature presentations for our players, families, and coaches on the landscape of hockey along with the Player Advancement Model for players.

"PATHWAY TO JUNIOR HOCKEY"

Ft. Tony Zasowski and Junior Coaches

The Pathway to Junior Hockey will dive into the different routes that players have to play junior hockey. Commissioner Tony Zasowski will cover the Junior Leagues that are available in North America and what each league has to offer. Tony will be joined by USHL Youngstown Phantoms Assistant Coach Brandon Gotkin, NAHL Maryland Black Bears Head Coach and General Manager Clint Mylymok, and NCDC Mercer Chiefs Head Coach Rob Broderick.

All players and their families are welcome to attend this webinar presentation.

Ft. Jeff Boston, Sports Agent

Jeff Boston is a NHLPA Certified Agent with the Roy Sports Group (RSG). Jeff joined RSG in 2007 and has utilized a continually growing network of amateur and professional contacts to recruit and support players with professional aspirations in the United States and Ontario.  Featured clients of the RSG include Nico Hirshier (NJ Devils), Philipp Grubauer (Seattle), and Ben Bishop (Buffalo). 

The AHF is working with RSG to invite all players and their families to an exclusive webinar presentation. The presentation will cover different types of advisors, when you should get one, and the value of an agent/advisor.

ACHA "COLLEGE HOCKEY OPPORTUNITIES"

Ft. Craig Barnett, Executive Director of ACHA

Craig Barnett was a part of the 1987 NCAA championship team as a goaltender at Plattsburgh State University in New York. Barnett continued his career playing professionally for the New York Rangers minor league team before becoming a coach. His 15-year coaching career includes coaching at the NCAA I and II levels. After coaching, he worked within athletic administration and has been the Executive Director of the ACHA since 2018. 

The American Collegiate Hockey Association, founded in 1991, is the National Governing Body for Non-NCAA Collegiate Hockey throughout the United States. With 461 college and university-affiliated teams representing 48 states and 2 Canadian provinces, the ACHA provides a structure, regulates operations, and promotes the sport of Hockey nationwide.

All are welcome to attend however, the presentation is targeted toward 18U ages. The presentation will cover collegiate hockey opportunities in the ACHA.

College Hockey Inc

COLLEGE HOCKEY INC "INTRO TO NCAA HOCKEY"

College Hockey Inc. is a non-profit established to ensure that all talented young hockey players and their families understand the unmatched development opportunities presented by NCAA Division I hockey.

The AHF is working with College Hockey Inc. to invite AHF 14U, 15U, 16U, and 18U players and their families to an exclusive webinar presentation. The main topic of the webinar will be the path to NCAA DI college hockey, and specifically what players can do to maintain their eligibility as they explore their hockey options. All are welcome to attend however, the presentation is targeted toward 14U, 15U, 16U, and 18U birth years.

This webinar will take approximately 30 minutes with time for a Q&A. It will cover why and how players like you chose to pursue a college hockey career.

INTRO TO HOCKEY

Ft. Ken Martel

With over 25 years of experience in player development and a long history as a coach with USA Hockey, Ken Martel was named senior director of player and coach development in November 2022. He is charged with helping provide a framework for associations nationwide to follow for optimal athlete development.

Martel has made appearances behind the bench of nine U.S. teams that have competed in International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships, including four times with the U.S. National Under-18 Team (2000-04), four times with the U.S. National Junior Team (2004, 2006, 2008-09) and once with the U.S. Women’s National Team (2007).

All are welcome to attend however, the presentation is targeted toward 8U to 12U ages. The presentation will cover player development, growth in hockey, what makes for a great youth sports experience, learning in an athletic context, and more.
