Byron Schultz, Capital City Vipers

Byron is a 2nd-year player that transitioned to wing and is strong on the puck.  He has excellent backchecking skills and has a strong shot.  Byron tied for the team lead with 4 points scoring two-goal and 2 assists along with two shootout goals.

Dylan Paranich, Igloo Jaguars Black

Dylan finished fourth in points for the U10 AA division, scoring ten goals and 11 points. He really showed his skills off when he was able to score on a penalty shot.

Owen Mitchell, New Jersey Bandits

Owen showed off his great hands and shot this weekend, finishing third in U10 AA in goals with eight.

.

Austin Shaw, North Jersey Avalanche Blue

Austin showed great speed to create many scoring opportunities on breakaways and off of face-offs. He used these skills to lead his team in points with five.

.

Josh Warren, York Devils

Josh is hustling every second he is out on the ice. He has great speed and agility which allowed him to create chances and record a team-leading nine goals and 14 points on the weekend.

Christian Leakas, North Jersey Avalanche Blue

Christian showed great awareness on the ice to consistently put himself in a position for scoring opportunities throughout the weekend. He recorded three goals and four points at the showcase.

Aaron Glasser, New Jersey Bandits

Aaron worked hard all weekend and his hard work showed up on the stat sheet. He has a great shot he used to score four goals, and his heads-up passing led him to four assists as well.

DEFENSE:

Justice Kuba, Capital City Vipers

Justice is an offensive Defenseman that can play all 5 positions. He led his team in goals with 3 and had 4 points in the showcase.  Primarily plays a physical style of defense but his offense showed again when he scored a shootout winner this weekend.

Hunter Frasch, Igloo Jaguars Black

Hunter possesses great defensive and offensive instincts. In his game against the Suffolk P.A.L Sound Tigers, he dove to block two shots in the defensive zone. He showed off his goal-scoring abilities as well, bringing the puck from the neutral zone against the North Jersey Skylands Kings Navy and scoring from the top of the circle.

Bryson Miller, New Jersey Bandits

Bryson showed off his defensive instincts this weekend. He played strong in his own zone and played smothering defense all weekend.

Shane Flemming, York Devils

Shane showed off his speed and high competition level this weekend. He has a great attitude and even tallied two goals on the weekend as well.

Cooper Smith, Capital City Vipers

Cooper is a strong and physical defenseman that logs heavy minutes and is excellent on the PK.  He shows strength down low and is physical in the corners and keeps the crease clean.

Aidan Dupey, Igloo Jaguars Black

Aidan is entering his first year in travel hockey and in his first showcase, he showed he belonged. He showed an ability to make saves in clutch moments and totaled 120 saves throughout the weekend.

Cullen Widener, York Devils

Cullen showed off his speed this past weekend when he was called upon in between the pipes. He came up with big saves and went 2-0 at the showcase.

Ella Long, Capital City Vipers

Ella is a goalie with great lateral movement and technique. She led her team to two shoot-out wins, stoping 5 out of 7 shootout attempts total.

Ethan Stremmel, York Devils

Ethan stood tall when called upon in net, stopping 27 shots against Ashburn. He has a high hockey IQ and brings competitive nature to every game he plays.

FORWARDS:

Jack Scott, Brick Hockey Club White

Jack led the Brick Hockey Club over the weekend with 14 goals and 1 assist. He showed poise and great offensive ability, but most importantly, he showed leadership qualities when he volunteered to play defense when the team needed him.

.

Shane Hicks-Cree, Hollydell Hurricanes White

Shane proved to be excellent in both the offensive and defensive zone. He hustled all weekend and was a cornerstone in the defensive effort, all while scoring two goals as well.

.

Tyler McDow, Jersey Shore Wildcats Red

Tyler is another forward who proved clutch in the defensive zone while being a forward. He showed patience and hockey IQ to make the plays he needed to make. He also showed off his offensive instincts, scoring a team-high four goals and five points.

Kieran Prozorov, Royals Hockey Club National White

Kieran is a goal scorer through and through. He has a scoring touch and finds himself in position every time.  Smart with the puck, Kieran was able to move the puck to his teammates and keep plays alive.  He tallied eight goals and 12 points this past weekend.

Walker Boyd, Team Philadelphia Orange

Walker showed excellent offensive instincts all weekend long. This was highlighted in a game against the New Jersey Stars, scoring four goals and an assist.

Jack Newton, Hollydell Hurricanes White

Jack showed off his offensive instincts in his first year as a squirt. He used his hockey IQ and skill to score his first goal as a squirt!

Carter Herring, Royals Hockey Club National White

Carter proved he is to be considered with the top players in this division this weekend. He controlled the play and scored his share of goals (nine to be exact). His tenacity and hands allowed him to consistently push the play into the offensive zone.

Vincent Pagano, Grundy Senators

Vincent loves hyping the team on the ice and high-fiving the opposing team also when they do well. He is a great team player with great offensive skills, highlighting this with his first-ever hat-trick.

Brian Delfin, Grundy Senators

Brian brings energy every game and loves hyping his team up to take the ice. He recorded three points this weekend and showed off some clutch scoring ability, netting the game-winning shootout goal in a win against Jersey Shore.

DEFENSEMEN:

Gabriel Acevado, Brick Hockey Club White

Gabriel was an anchor for Brick’s defense this past weekend. Not only did he play solid 2-way defense while showing a knack for his natural skating ability, he also scored the game-winning goal in Brick’s shootout victory Saturday afternoon.

Avery Jones, Tomorrow’s North Stars White

Avery not only contributed with an assist this weekend but took on a massive leadership role for the team. Tasked with helping inexperienced players adjust, he took on the role with flying colors and helped them tidy up their game. He made sure they knew to shake it off when mistakes were made and showed great sportsmanship throughout.

Seth McDonald, Royals Hockey Club National White

Seth is a well-rounded hockey player. His speed and athleticism helped him shut down the opposing teams on defense.  Seth used his vision and his hands to charge up the ice, surprising the other teams, to score in spectacular fashion. These skills were reflected in the eight goals and eleven points he totaled.

Brody Kassa, Jersey Shore Wildcats Red

Brody was a force in front of the net, using his size and stick skills to clear the crease. He showed he can contribute offensively as well with a goal and assist on the weekend.

Elek Lukas, Tomorrow’s North Stars White

Elek played every position this past weekend, showing off his athletic ability in each one. When he played defense, he showed great skills to force the opposition out of the offensive zone while holding strong on the blue line and allowing no goals against.

Peter Gaffney, Team Philadelphia Orange

Peter shined in between the pipes for Team Philadelphia. He earned star of the game honors for his shutout win this past Saturday against the Hollydell Hurricanes, staying poised and focused throughout the game.

Julia Sammarco, Brick Hockey Club White

Julia registered a shut-out in her first game as a Squirt and made many key saves over the weekend. She shows natural athletic ability in her side-to-side movements and battles for every loose puck. She plays her angles well and rarely leaves a rebound.

.

Tomas Ancinec, Tomorrow’s North Stars White

Tomas showed how clutch he could be in goal this past weekend, shutting down breakaways in key moments of the game. He turned aside 22 shots in two games.

Carter Bryson, Grundy Senators

Carter maintained a positive attitude throughout the weekend and showed off in between the pipes as well, recording 85 saves! He also made three big saves in the shootout to help his team secure a win over Jersey Shore.

FORWARDS

Braydon Heister, Hollydell Hurricanes Black
The captain of the Hurricanes Black squad, Heister scored three goals in four games, helping Hollydell to two wins. Heister accounted for almost half his team’s goals in the showcase.  

Scott Scranton, Team Philadelphia
With six goals and 10 points, Scranton led the way for the undefeated Team Philadelphia. Scranton’s speed helped not only create offensively, but also cause havoc on the backcheck defensively to rattle the opposition. 

Savannah Bossom, Maryland Jr. Black Bears Black
With constant energy throughout the weekend, Bossom brought plenty of life to the Maryland game. Bossom was strong in the faceoff dot, while also chipping in an assist during the showcase. 

Kim Belko, Grundy Senators
Thanks to Belko’s size and strength on the puck, he was able to help headman the Senators in the transition game up the ice. His speed also helped coming back, as he was able to provide solid backchecking throughout the weekend.

Rick Purich, Hollydell Hurricanes Black
While he may not have ended up on the scoresheet, the intangibles that Purich had through the weekend showed how much of a team player he was. With a number of block shots and strong board play, Purich brought a worker’s mentality to Hollydell. 

Tyler Bickel, Team Philadelphia
Bickel causes plenty of disruption in front of the net with his big screens and second-chances on rebounds. With five assists, Bickel was able to help in the team success for the undefeated Team Philadelphia squad. 

Parker Guest, Maryland Jr. Black Bears Black
With four goals in the showcase, Guest was able to show off his very heavy shot. One highlight was Guest scoring the game-tying goal with 14 seconds left to push that game into overtime. 

Paul Allan, Hollydell Hurricanes Black
Speed was the strong point in Allan’s game, allowing him to create separation between himself and the opposition. With a key goal late in the fourth game, Allan helped Hollydell get within one as they rounded out their weekend. 

Jaydan Shavney, Team Philadelphia
Starting the showcase with a hat trick, Shavney was relentless all weekend long. Finishing with a better than point-per-game stat line, Shavney helped the strong Team Philadelphia offense to four wins on the weekend.

Tommy Osborne, Maryland Jr. Black Bears Black 
Osborne displayed plenty of hockey IQ and solid intangibles throughout the weekend. With his solid vision of the ice, he was able to lead Maryland with three assists, while also winning 70% of his faceoffs on the weekend. 

DEFENSE

Aiden Fitzgerald, Hollydell Hurricanes Black
Playing solid in his own end, Fitzgerald got in front of plenty of pucks this weekend, helping his goaltender out on perimeter shots. Fitzgerald also was able to create some offense with plenty of shots from the point. 

Blake Barton, Maryland Jr. Black Bears Black
By forcing a number of turnovers, Barton helped keep the puck away from the netminders this weekend. Not only did Barton’s first pass out of the zone help transition the play, but Barton added a goal and some assists on the weekend. 

Troy Hamilton, Grundy Senators
A classic stay-at-home defenseman, Hamilton was rarely out of position in his own end and handled odd-man rushes with ease. A physical presence on the puck, Hamilton constantly made smart decision when he had the puck on his stick.

Brody Finnegan, Team Philadelphia
Finnegan had five assists on the weekend, but his biggest contribution didn’t show itself on the scoresheet. The ability to maintain the offensive zone by keeping the puck onside was able to create plenty of chances for Team Philadelphia. 

Max Grotheer, Maryland Jr. Black Bears Black
Leading the team in goals and points, Grotheer was a very vocal leader over the weekend. His speed was able to create plenty of scoring chances for Maryland in the showcase.  

Team Defense, Team Philadelphia 
The quintet of Finnegan, Aydan MeyerOwen ParkerChristian Pacan, and Sean Tobin kept the opposition far to the outside, allowing only 35 shots on the entire weekend. Not to mention, each of the defenders had at least two points in the showcase. 

GOALIE

Charlie Baselice, Hollydell Hurricanes Black
Baselice finished the weekend with 2.50 goals-against average while registering a shutout in the second game of the weekend. Baselice’s key saves helped turn the momentum for the Hurricanes throughout the weekend.

Brody Santora, Grundy Senators
Santora used his unorthodox style to confuse shooters over the weekend. He made the shooter commit to their first move before reacting to that action, making every save look a little different each time.

Forwards:

Evan Reaser – MYHA Gold

– Leading the way for his team with a goal and two assists, Reaser took the role of motivating his team on and off the ice. Adding a gritty and physical play style to his offense and leadership, Evan was tough to contain for opponents. He will definitely be an interesting skater to keep an eye on.

Trey Zaren – MYHA Gold

– Potting the team’s first goal in the AHF, Zaren exceeded expectations. Despite being the smallest player on the team, he was still able to find success on the ice. His play also served as a spark plug for the team, as the ice breaking goal spawned six more for MYHA throughout the showcase.

Forwards:

Chase Gittens – Hollydell Hurricanes (Gold)

– Able to pick out and place the puck on a single piece of twine behind the net, Gittens sniping talents were on full display throughout the showcase. Tied for the team lead in goals with seven, while adding four helpers, his accurate shooting continuously eluded goaltenders and put points on the board for the Hurricanes. Anticipate Chase to continue to rack up the goals this season.

Rylan Schneider – York Devils (Silver)

– Schneider finished joint third in the 16A silver showcase in both goals, seven, and points, ten. He converted two shootout goals while also potting a hat trick in York’s showcase finale. Flashing his scoring talent to stand out in a group of very talented players, Schneider will be sure to net many more goals this season.

Andrew Way – Hollydell Hurricanes (Gold)

– Good things happen when you have the puck, and puck possession is exactly what Way granted the Hurricanes. Winning nearly three-quarters of the face-offs that he took, the Hurricanes saw a lot of time in possession when he was on the ice, and this translated to a three points-per-game pace for Hollydell’s centerman (7 G, 5 A in 4 GP). He absolutely played a vital role in the Hurricanes going undefeated in the showcase.

Defense:

Gavin Nace – Hollydell Hurricanes (Gold)

– Nace put a damper on opponent’s attacks through the team’s four showcase games. While +/- may not be a be-all, end-all stat, when you tally more points than goals against while you’re on the ice, that speaks volumes for a defenseman. Nace did just this, putting up nine points (3 G, 6 A) while helping Hollydell, as a team, concede only ten goals over the entire showcase.

Gavin Smith – York Devils (Silver)

– Toughing out a leg injury throughout the showcase, Smith still found the will to shine. In four games, he played outstanding defense while adding a goal and two assists. He also tallied the game-winning goal in the shootout to win the team’s opening game. Showcasing a clutch factor, grit, and ability at both ends of the ice, Smith is a great presence to have in the defensive zone and on the blue line.

Defense:

Joel Saxon – New Jersey Aspen Kings Blue

– A team leader that saw time on both special teams units, Saxon emerged as a leader for the Aspen Kings. His energetic, intelligent play kept the Aspen Kings in close games. Through four games, he was also able to add a goal and two assists to the scoresheet. His leadership will surely aid New Jersey to victory in close battles.

Ryan Walter – New Jersey Aspen Kings Blue

– Averaging 3.5 shots-per-game from the blue line, Walter served as a critical presence on the Aspen Kings power play efforts. Moving the puck well and finding open ice for himself on the man advantage to use his heavy shot, Walter showed a lot of potential as an offensively-minded defenseman.

Forwards:

Dylan Jenks – Ashburn Xtreme 2

– A finesse player with outstanding speed, Jenks scored two goals and added an assist thanks to his superb stick handling. In addition to his offensive talents, he also chipped in on the back check, aiding the defense and forcing turnovers. Jenks helped to tilt the ice into Ashburn’s favor. The team will look for him to bring that x-factor into every game.

Nathan Picot – Ashburn Xtreme 2

Always hunting for a loose puck or a rebound to stuff home, Picot’s forechecking prowess was on full display, as he tallied two goals and an assist over the team’s four games. These goals were the result of hard work around the net and determination to finish the play. He plays with a high motor and never takes an easy shift.

Forwards:

Zac Bulson – MYHA Gold

– Using his ability to read the development of play, Bulson intercepted several passes and turned them into breakaways with his great speed on the puck. This allowed him to pot a team-high five goals, including a hat trick. He also displayed a highly accurate shot by going bar down with ease. A pure offensive talent, defenses must stay alert when he is on the ice, even when they’re on the puck.

Chris Delmonte – North Jersey Aspen Kings Blue

– A two-way forward that utilizes a physical game over all 200 feet of the rink, Delmonte contributed in ways that did and didn’t show up on the score sheet. In terms of scoring, he had three goals on the ledger. What didn’t show up on the sheet was his willingness to get involved in the play, no matter where it was, and his gritty skating style. He was, and will continue to be, critical to the Aspen Kings gameplan.

Ben Russell – MYHA Gold

– Using his big frame in front of the net, Russell successfully cleared room for MYHA to score. In the showcase opener, he netted two goals in the second period by creating space for himself before unleashing a textbook one-timer. He also showed off strong hand-eye coordination, tipping home a deflection goal. The MYHA power forward finished the showcase with three goals and two assists, a very strong showing for him.

Jonah Smith – Royals Hockey Club

– Among the team point leaders with a goal and an assist, Smith was heavily involved with a lot of offensive scoring chances for the Royals. He displayed a high hockey IQ on his goal, teaming up well with his linemate in order to create a quality scoring chance. Should he be able to maintain this chemistry with his linemates, Jonah will be sure to pop in more goals this season.

Defense:

Chase Unice – North Jersey Aspen Kings Blue

– Unice normally fulfills the role of a stay-at-home defenseman, and that was what he did for a majority of the showcase. He used his large build to snuff out a wide array of attacks. However, he also flashed a rare showcase of offensive talent, as well. He stick handled around a defender and impressively slid a shot by the goalie on their short side. That was hopefully a glimpse into the future and Chase can incorporate more offense like that into his game.

Goalies:

Frederick Horowitz – MYHA Gold

– Backstopping his team to two wins, Horowitz only conceded four goals on 65 shots against him. His .930 save percentage was tied for third among 18U A netminders that played a minimum of 50 minutes. His athletic ability permitted him to stop such a high volume of shots, and will continue to bring him great success down the road.

Utility:

Michael Bonnani – Royals Hockey Club

– Serving time as both the main line and last line of defense in the showcase, Bonnani hit the ice as a defenseman and a goalie. He saw great success as a shut-down defenseman, blocking nearly 50 shots and shutting down up-ice rushes. For the team’s game on Saturday, he was asked to fill in as a netminder and did so admirably, making 43 saves while borrowing equipment from the rink and using a skater’s stick. His versatility and team-first mindset makes him a highly valuable asset for the Royals.

FORWARDS

Declan Hines, Haverford Hawks
With at least two points in every game, Hines led the Hawks offensively in the showcase. While he did have seven goals in the showcase, he was able to pass the puck around to aid his team, contributing three assists on the weekend, as well. 

Colin Mullin, Royals Hockey Club American
With six points in four games, Mullin led the way on the offense for Royals Hockey Club. His vision of the ice allowed the extend play in the offensive zone, as well as showing off his strong stickhandling skills. 

Jacob Bowden, Haverford Hawks
Playing a power forward style, Bowden was all over the ice in this showcase. Putting up five goals and seven points on the weekend, Bowden made a great first impression with his new team and put out a warning to the rest of the division. 

Connor Dinmore, Haverford Hawks
Coming back from an injury at the beginning of last season, Dinmore had a point-per-game display in the showcase. Dinmore led by example not only offensively, but displaying defensive sparks as well to help out his defense when called upon. 

DEFENSE

Matthew Jackson, Haverford Hawks
Jackson made a splash in his first games in the pee-wee ranks. With three goals in four games, Jackson contributed in a big way offensively, while helping hold the opposition to only one goal against on the weekend. 

Alexander Salentik, Royals Hockey Club American
Salentik played textbook defense when it came to keeping the opposing forwards from his own goal and making sure to control the gap. With multiple blocks in his own end, as well as being able to control the puck in transition, Salentik made a big mark for his team in his division. 

Connor Maraj, Haverford Hawks
Part of the shutdown defense for Haverford, Maraj was the definition of consistency on the weekend. While he helped shut down the opposition’s offense, Maraj added two assists in aiding to the offense from the back-end. 

GOALIE

Dominic Sestito Royals Hockey Club American
Sestito’s focus on the game was crucial for the Royals Hockey Club, helping keep his club in the game. With a shutout to his name, Sestito was on point more often than not through this first showcase.

FORWARDS 

Cole Gainsley, Royals Hockey Club
Gainsley was able to chalk up nine goals and 13 points through the weekend. His quick, hard shot was on display with his hat trick in the team’s second game against Tomorrow’s Ice. 

Jagger Smith, Royals Hockey Club
Moving from defense to forward, Smith showed his vision of the ice with six assists over the weekend. His puck control and movement created plenty of opportunities for RHC in the showcase. 

Ryan DeMatteo, Royals Hockey Club
With eight points, including five goals, DeMatteo was on full display this weekend. Camping out in the slot, DeMatto went bardown on two of his five goals thanks to his quick release and ability to find space. 

DEFENSE

Peter Pereborow, Royals Hockey Club
Pereborow led the defense with three goals from the point on the weekend. In addition, he helped out the defense which only allowed four goals in the entire August showcase by keeping the opposition away from dangerous scoring chances. 

Jaden Young, Royals Hockey Club
With four assists, Young led the way for points for RHC, showing off his vision of the ice from the blue line. Young was also solid in making sure that the opponents didn’t have time or space to set-up in the RHC zone. 

GOALIE

Ian Goldberg, Royal Hockey Club
Allowing only one goal in three appearances, Goldberg was solid between the pipes. Goldberg finished the showcase with a 0.50 goals-against average and .955 save percentage.
