Jeremy Eager – MYHA Gold

Getting a chance to shine, Eager did not let his opportunity go to waste. Starting two games, Eager went 1-0-1 while stopping 45-of-47 shots against him, good for a .957 save percentage. He saved 11 shots in a shutout against St. James and followed that performance with a 34-save game in a 3-2 shootout loss against the New Jersey Jets. Justin Koehler – Team Philadelphia

Koehler only played one game in the showcase, but it’s hard to ignore a 26-save shutout victory over a rival. This is exactly the performance that Koehler turned in during a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Blazers. This lowered Koehler’s GAA to a division-leading 1.50 while improving his save percentage to a tidy .933.

Team Philadelphia

It was an undefeated weekend for Team Philadelphia, who left the showcase with a 3-0-0 record. The team won its opener against rival Philadelphia Blazers by the score of 3-0, led by a 26-save shutout turned in by Justin Koehler. Team Philadelphia went on to top the New Jersey Jets in a 3-2 shootout thriller. The team was backed in this game by Brendan Chandler, who scored twice in regulation and netted the only goal in the shootout, and by Shahzad Bolduc, who made 18 saves during regulation and went a perfect 3-for-3 in the shootout. The team closed out the effort with a dominant 6-1 victory over Tomorrow’s Ice Selects, as Broden Foley and Jack Biruk each scored twice. The team now has a three point lead over the second place Blazers, as they own a 7-2-0 record (14 points) over nine games.

MYHA Gold

A surprise riser, MYHA took third place in the division on the power of a seven-point weekend, going 3-0-1 over their four games. They opened the showcase with a 6-0 win over St. James, as Grady Sellman had two goals and Jeremy Eager backstopped a shutout. MYHA followed this with a statement 6-4 win over second place Philadelphia Blazers, thanks to a Reilly Doherty hat trick. The team won again later that day, earning a 3-1 decision over Tomorrow’s Ice Selects, as Sellman, Doherty, and Asher Wang scored goals. It took the New Jersey Jets, a U16 Gold squad, a shootout to stop a potential 4-0 weekend, as MYHA got two third period goals to force the shootout. The team now has a 4-4-1 record and improved their goal differential to -1. If MYHA can maintain this level of play, they have the potential to lead the way in the division.

Philadelphia Blazers

The Blazers went 1-2-1 on the showcase, but they had some noteworthy performances along the way. The team earned a dominant 4-1 win over the North Jersey Avalanche, racking up 34 shots and getting goals from four different sources. Jacob-Daniel Summerfield also saved 22-of-23 shots in net, contributing to the win. The Blazers also pushed the New Jersey Jets to the brink, forcing a five-round shootout in a 4-3 loss.
