The AHF announces the Players of the Week for the week ending October 16, 2022. The Players of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2022-23 season that honors players in all divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered.

“This is for the mite full ice add on. Cooper had a stand out game, probably the best I have seen him play. He is really adapting to full ice and has become a great play maker and goal scorer,” said Coach Kelly Dolan.

“Chris had a strong 2 way game all weekend. 3 goals in 1 game 2 in the other as defence. He gets back and is solid on the blu3 line but also can go up on the rush and help the team on offense,” said Coach John Bergstrasser.

“He contributed goals in each game with 2 game winners for a 4-0 record for this weekends showcase,” said Coach Greg Schehr.

“The Jags are red hot, and have won 6 in a row! Defense was the key to this weekend, with scoring contributions from multiple blueliners. Lucky Luciano led the way with 2 goals and an assist, and was the definition of versatility, by filling in at Center and taking command of our Special Teams units when called upon. “Lucky #7” is a first year Squirt who works hard all the time, and has a passion for the game and improving his skill sets.” said Coach Garry Wall.

“Ryan’s hard work is paying off. He moved from center to wing on a new line this week and made the most of it with 7 goals and 2 assists. Skating hard and finding ways to score goals at key times gave the entire team a boost when they needed it,” said Coach Peter Burnett.

“Nicky and his whole line were a major difference maker in our game this weekend putting up 3 goalies in the first period, with Nicky contributing on all 3 goals. He never took a shift off and not only got the game winning goal but also stopped multiple odd man rushes from occurring with his hustle,” said Coach Mike Herhal.

“Brian lead his team to a 4-0 weekend in the 2nd Showcase for the 16AA NJ Bandits. Over 4 games Brian played every minute earning a .975 save percentage while allowing only 3 goals against including one shutout. Brian’s season stats after 18 games 580 SA/38 GA equaling to a .934 overall save percentage including 3 SO during 891 mins of TOI,” said Coach Chris Zaires.
